Escape: A New Multi-Disciplinary Design Studio Born from the Expertise of Alberto Apostoli

Integrated services, sustainability, and a multi-disciplinary approach are just a few of the founding principles of the new studio, based in the province of Verona, which is already active internationally.

With over twenty-five years of experience in the field of design, Alberto Apostoli, architect and founder of the eponymous Studio Apostoli, has amassed numerous successes and awards, positioning himself consistently in the luxury and wellness markets. This success has also been fuelled by the values of a “manifesto for the architecture of well-being”, which he personally promoted and which has since become the driving force behind his work. Hotel chains, investment funds, and private clients have entrusted Studio Apostoli with major projects in hospitality and spa sectors, as well as clinics and villas, all developed from a holistic approach, pragmatism, vision, and compositional harmony.

The desire to trigger new processes and share the expertise accumulated over these years with other market segments has led to the creation of Escape, a new company providing integrated and multi-disciplinary design services. Escape brings together the values and know-how of Studio Apostoli, while offering a distinct approach and dedicated team.

Escape’s multi-disciplinary vision, strengthened by engineering, consultancy, and management components across all project processes, enables the new studio to tackle diverse areas of design and a wide variety of client types. These include retail, office spaces, bars and restaurants, mixed-use buildings, public educational buildings, residential complexes, wellness and thermal facilities, hospitality, healthcare, and product design. Active globally in over 25 countries across Europe, the Middle East, the Far East, and Africa, Escape’s portfolio already includes a diverse range of international brands, such as Allianz Group, Converse, Jeep, Nike, Giovanni Rana, Nuxe Paris, general contractor Rizzani de Eccher, the retail chain ALDI, as well as prominent institutional clients like Poste Italiane and Agenzia delle Entrate, for the design of headquarters.

Among its projects, Escape is involved in the redevelopment and strategic consultancy for the historic wellness destinations of Terme di Comano and Terme di Grado, as well as the design of the Cittadella del Benessere in Parma – a sustainable and inclusive residential area of over 16,000 square metres on the outskirts of the city. In addition to design, Escape is also active in product design.

The studio is led by six project managers and a team of over thirty professionals, covering the entire technical-creative process, from due diligence and feasibility studies to final, executive, or even construction design, including interior design and systems engineering. Escape’s services are divided into six key sectors: strategic, technical, and managerial consultancy; architectural design; construction and sustainability, all in alignment with the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and undertaken in partnership with international consultants.

Ecology and social impact are fundamental concepts today, especially for those of us who are engaged daily in designing new living spaces,” says Alberto Apostoli, founder and principal visionary of Escape, adding: “Architecture has a profound impact on people’s lives and, above all, conveys messages.” He continues, “After over 25 years of research and development in strategic design, carried out globally and in collaboration with international partners, I realised it was the right time to optimise our skills in a new entity and make them available to distinct markets and goals.”

Apostoli concludes: “I am pleased to entrust the leadership of this project to a cohesive, dynamic, and creative team, with strong expertise in technical, construction, and regulatory matters. At present, Escape is already active on several sites, with updates expected by the end of this year. Meanwhile, investments in training programmes continue, aimed at further developing important specialisations in both creative and managerial fields.”
